What you type into the estimator
Your income, expenses, deductions, filing status, state and the other inputs are saved in your browser's
local storage under the name tax_calc_inputs_v2, so they are still there when you come back.
The calculator works them out in your browser and does not send them to our server. We do not ask for your name,
email address or an account.
The Clear My Data button on the last step removes them, and so does clearing this site's data in your browser. The notice about shared computers remembers that you closed it only until you close the tab (session storage).
Services the pages load
- Google Analytics (tag G-GNCDVZSKM5) measures visits: pages viewed, time on the site,
approximate region, device type and the site you came from. When you reach the summary step the page sends one event
named
view_tax_summary; it carries no amounts. Google Analytics uses cookies. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. - Google Ads tag (AW-18005516558) measures visits that come from ads we run on Google, and can add visitors to audiences for those ads (remarketing). It uses cookies.
- Google AdSense shows ads (publisher ca-pub-4708234819958995). Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses this data in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent by Google's consent message.
- Cloudflare hosts the site. Its Web Analytics counts page views without cookies.
What we keep
We do not run a database of visitors, and we do not sell personal information. Google and Cloudflare keep their data under their own policies.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
